AMDA Scholarships are merit-based awards given to students based on the results of the audition process and may be used toward tuition provided their application is accepted. Additional details will be provided to award recipients.

AUDITIONED & AWARDED BY BALLROOM REGISTRATION

Dancers will Audition in the Ballroom they are Registered in

AUDITION NUMBERS for each Fully Registered Dancer will be included in each Convention Registration Packet. *These numbers ONLY need to be worn during the Scholarship Auditions.

ELIGIBILITY

All full-convention paid Junior, Teen, Senior and Assistant Teacher registrants may audition. *Dancers eligible to receive each available scholarship ONLY ONCE in each Age Division.

*MINI STUDENTS: Our Mini Program is designed to be a stepping stone for young dancers to prepare for the Junior ballroom level. With this in mind, Mini Dancers will not be eligible to audition for scholarships, including Dancer of the Year, until they are registered in the Junior ballroom.

AUDITIONS START PROMPTLY!

• Be sure you are in the audition room prior to start time.
• No Dancers will be allowed to enter once the doors have closed.
• Only Registered Teachers may enter after the doors are closed.
• No Exceptions for any reason.

NO SIGN UP LIST OR FEE

You must be in the appropriate ballroom for the audition prior to start time. No dancers will be allowed to enter once the doors have closed

AUDITIONING DANCERS ONLY

Only Auditioning Dancers, Registered Teachers and Assistant Teachers are allowed into the auditions. Dancers are encouraged to audition, and therefore are not allowed to only watch the audition. If a dancer is cut, then we encourage them to stay and observe until the end.

EXITING AUDITION FOR ANY REASON

If you exit the audition for any reason, you WILL NOT be allowed back into the ballroom until the audition is over.

AUDITION MATERIAL

The auditions consist of New Material. 
BALLET COMBINATION – Taught, Performed in Groups, Cuts are made
JAZZ COMBINATION – Taught, Performed in Groups, Additional Cuts are made

ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS

Scholarship Recipients will be announced on the last day of convention.
