COMPANY GUIDELINES

The Tremaine Performance Company consists of three age divisions Teen (Ages 12-14), Senior (Ages 15-17, still in high school) and Pre-Professional (Ages 18-21, out of high school) as well as Tremaine Dancers of the Year (DOTY’s). It is comprised of dancers who desire to achieve an additional level of training in the art and craft of dance. Each division of the company has slightly different guidelines and expectations. Please see below for details.
*Note: All ages are as of January 1st to match the convention, competition age.

ELIGIBILITY

•  The Tremaine Performance Company is designed to enhance your dance training IN ADDITION to your home studio training. Your commitment to your home studio MUST COME FIRST. As a requirement you must have a signed teacher approval to participate in the Company and we will defer to your teacher should there be any issues that arise during your participation in the Company. If you are not upholding your studio commitments and requirements during the season you may be dismissed from the Company.

•  COMMUNICATION is key! Timely and efficient communication is paramount for deadlines, and you run the risk of not being able to participate without it. E-mail, and the Band app are utilized as the main form of communication related to all Company matters. Any problems, questions or concerns no matter how big or small should be emailed to TPC@TremaineDance.com.

•  You will receive a class schedule from the Company Director that is tailored with careful consideration to enhance the goals of your training.

•  TPC members may demonstrate/assist ON STAGE at the discretion of the faculty member that is teaching and ONLY if asked. It is not guaranteed. If you are not assisting, spread out in the ballroom and be visible to attendees with the same focus/energy you have when you are assisting.

•  From a training perspective, we feel that you do not need to perform a solo and receive a critique while you are a member of TPC because you will receive focused feedback and training directly from the faculty during each city you attend. Members of the Tremaine Performance Company may NOT compete a solo at a Tremaine Semi Finals, Summer Dance or National Finals Competition. However, you MAY compete with your studio in all OTHER categories. PLEASE NOTE: If you are a TPC member and competing with your home studio, your priority is to your home studio (Remember: This builds teamwork and comradery). Therefore, in those cities, you are NOT able to assist classes. You may still attend rehearsals and have the opportunity to perform in the Faculty Show. These cities WILL count toward your attendance requirements for the season.

•  Performance in the Faculty Show is at the Director’s discretion. All choreography will be available on the Tremaine Band App for members to learn prior to attending your first convention city.

• All Music, Choreography, Costumes, and any other information received regarding Tremaine Dance Conventions and the Tremaine Performance Company is confidential and proprietary information belonging to Tremaine Dance Conventions and is to be used for the Tremaine Performance Company ONLY. Violation of this will result in dismissal from the Company.

•  Tremaine will provide you with free convention registration and admission for as long as you are a member of the Company. TPC members are financially responsible for all additional fees including but not limited to TPC uniforms (Including TPC Tour Jacket and Uniform Pieces of your choice), costuming, food, lodging, and travel expenses as well as any competition fees, etc.

•  Pre-Professional Members should be dancers who are looking to learn more about a professional career in dance. They may be alumni of the Teen and Senior age divisions; however, it is not required. This experience may include the opportunity to work behind the scenes with our administrative team and backstage crew during the event, as well as potential leadership opportunities during rehearsals and classes with the faculty, etc. Not all Pre-Pro’s will be asked to work during every event. Work shifts will be scheduled at the Director’s discretion and may not be changed without prior approval from the Director.

•  All TPC members (and their parents/chaperones/guardians) are required to adhere to all rules and guidelines as set forth in the Company “Code of Conduct”. Failure to abide by all rules and guidelines may result in dismissal from the Company. The Code of Conduct will be sent to members upon acceptance and will need to be read and acknowledged via signature to participate in the Company.  Teen and Senior Program Participants are required to have at least one (1) chaperone age 21 or older with them while attending a city during the Tour. Each Program Participant must register the chaperone accompanying them by emailing TPC@TremaineDance.com prior to arriving in that City.
