Cyrus was born in Dallas, Texas but grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and now resides in Los Angeles, California. He started dancing at the age of 8, but took a reprieve to play sports, and started again at the age of 15. His professional career started when he auditioned and was named the “runner up” on season 9 of So You Think You Can Dance.
Since then Cyrus has not stopped working in the industry and has become known for his preferred dance style of Animation. He has performed as a dancer, host, and actor in film & television and live shows across the country. His credits include playing the role of “Gauge,” in the smash hit Step Up franchise, Step Up 5: All In, as well as appearing on the Ellen Degeneres Show, Glee, Home Economics, Austin & Ally, the So You Think You Can Dance Live Tour and in the Boogaloo Shrimp documentary, just to name a few.
In addition, his attention to detail and love for teaching students proper technique have made him a fan favorite in the dance education world.
