The Dance Factory

Teacher(s) Tarah Kemper

Being a Tremaine DOTY this past year has made such a positive impact on my life. Not only was I able to grow and push myself as a dancer, while learning under some of the greatest instructors, but I was also able to make memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. I am so appreciative and thankful for this opportunity and am honored to be able to say that I will always be a part of the Tremaine family.

Hello, my name is Taylor Clark and I am 17 years old and a senior in high school. In addition to being the captain of my high school dance team, I am also a member of the National Honor Society and a varsity track athlete.

Following in my mother's footsteps, I began dancing at the age of three. From a very young age I had an incredible passion for dancing and wanted to inspire others through my dance. I began competing when I was eight years old with my first convention being Tremaine and I have been competing at Tremaine ever since. In the past nine years, I have been blessed with many awards and scholarships which have opened up so many doors in my life, including being a competition dancer and assisting at my studio, The Dance Factory in Topeka, Kansas.

All of these accomplishments could not be possible though without the love and support of my family and friends. I have to give a huge thank you to Tarah Kemper and all the dance teachers who have shaped me to be not only the dancer, but the person I am today. Also to my family, thank you for always supporting, encouraging, and teaching me to never give up and to continue working toward my dreams.

I cannot express what an honor it is to be chosen as the 2011-12 Senior Female Dancer of the Year. I am so thankful for this wonderful opportunity to learn and grow alongside the incredible Tremaine Faculty and Staff. In the future, I hope to continue to develop and challenge myself as a dancer and be a mentor to others who aspire to dance. I believe in taking every opportunity that life gives you and through hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
