BIO JULY 2015
Representing Tremaine as the Teen Male DOTY has been an incredible honor. The opportunity to work with the amazing faculty, fellow DOTY’s, and Performance Company has inspired me to achieve more than I imagined. I’ve made new friends and have grown not only as a dancer, but as a person, too. I am grateful to Joe Tremaine, the entire faculty, and Dawn Crafton for believing in me. This has been the best experience ever!
BIO AUGUST 2014
Hello, my name is Ryan Vyskocil and I am 13 years old. I am an 8th grade honors student and attend a school for the performing arts. My mom tells me that whenever music played, I would start dancing around the house. I began dance classes at the age of 4. I started with tap and then learned other styles of dance.
I’ve found my passion with dance. I love the way the rhythm and feeling of music flows through my body and influences me. When I’m not dancing, I’m usually hanging out with friends and family, doing theatre, acting, singing, skateboarding and swimming.
I’ve been attending Tremaine Dance Conventions since I was 7 years old. It was through a Tremaine workshop years ago that I finally realized the importance of ballet as the foundation of all forms of dance. Soon after, I started ballet, contemporary, modern, musical theatre and hip hop. I’ve learned how to be confident in who I am, to be brave enough to try new things and take on new challenges. Since I’ve come to Tremaine, I’ve been rewarded with scholarships that have supported my drive and dedication for dance. I am very thankful.
The Tremaine faculty are inspirational, talented, friendly and fun. They are such an incredible team of teachers who not only teach amazing dance, but give lifelong lessons that I will apply throughout my career. I am honored to be selected as the 2014-2015 Teen Male Dancer of the Year. I cannot thank Mr. Joe Tremaine and his team enough for this awesome opportunity. I want to thank my family and friends for supporting me and believing in me. I also would like to thank my fantastic teachers from Dawn Crafton Dance Connection: Dawn Crafton, Kelly Welch, Erin Kelly, Sherri Paugh, Mark Orsborn, Kelly d’Amboise, Thomas Ford, Mariah Appleton, Cres Valencia and Chris Jarosz for their support, invaluable dance training and for teaching me the skills I’ve needed to progress in dance. I am excited and grateful to Tremaine for the opportunity to learn and improve my dance this coming year under the direction of the best of the best – the Tremaine faculty. I will always count my blessings and be thankful for every opportunity I am given.
I plan to dance professionally as my career choice and only time will tell where that will take me. From Broadway musicals to L.A. performances and shows, I'm excited about reaching for my dreams. I will continue to work hard in order to pursue and fulfill my goals. All I know is that I want to do what I love and that is to dance and perform. I am thankful for this wonderful opportunity and looking forward to an amazing year with Tremaine.
