Hayley Meier is currently a Principal company member of the Rochester City Ballet. Her solo roles with RCB include Clara, Magical Doll, English Toffee, lead Spanish, Dew Drop Fairy, Snow Queen, and Sugar Plum in The Nutcracker, the lead in Gershwin in the Park and the Firebird in Firebird.
In 2005, she performed the lead role in RCB’s Cinderella to critical acclaim. In the spring of 2010 Ms. Meier was chosen to perform in Balanchine's Serenade as the lead Russian Girl. She was also chosen to perform in Gerald Arpino's 1970's contemporary pas de duex, Valentine.
In the summer of 2005 Ms. Meier, by invitation, traveled to Peru to take part in the 14th annual International Festival of Ballet where she performed a contemporary solo, Alcoba Azul, choreographed by Jamey Leverett, along with a classical and contemporary pas de deux.
In the summer of 2008, she was a featured performer in Hoedown and Bravo! Colorado, at CMAC, with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Recently, Ms. Meier traveled with the company to NYC as a featured soloist to perform a full length concert series at the Michael Schimmel Center for the Performing Arts at Pace University.
Ms. Meier is a recent graduate of the University of Arizona, attending under full academic and talent scholarship. While at the University, Ms. Meier was a featured soloist in End of Time, choreographed by Texas Ballet Theatre Artistic Director Ben Stevenson and was chosen by Leslie Peck to dance lead roles in Balanchine’s Serenade and Tchaikovsky pas de deux. Upon graduating, Ms. Meier was awarded the inaugural "Hayley Meier Award" for outstanding artistry across all dance forms.
Hayley has such good memories from when she was the Junior Dancer of the Year at ten years old. Everyone was so nice and made her feel very special.
