Ms. Judi Freed-Siegfried’s family has owned and operated dancing schools in South Carolina for over 55 years and she has been involved in dance her entire life. A dancer, choreographer and educator, Judi studied dance at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (B.F.A.). After graduation she received a teaching assistantship to Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, where she obtained her Master of Fine Arts Degree (M.F.A.) in ballet.

In 1986, Judi served on the faculty at Coker College in Hartsville, South Carolina, teaching jazz and ballet. Then, after moving to Florida, Judi taught on the faculty of local colleges including, Valencia Community College, Rollins College and has remained on faculty at the University of Central Florida since 1988, teaching and lecturing on tap, ballet, jazz and modern dance.

Following in her family’s footsteps, Judi opened her own studio in Oviedo, Florida, in 1991, where, in addition to educating her students in dance, Judi also stresses the importance of being involved in the local community. Her studio is active in performing for retirement communities, schools, local festivals and fund-raising for Relay for Life benefitting the American Cancer Society.

Throughout the years, Judi has always kept up with the current dance trends by traveling with her students to study in New York and California, as well as many regional and national level dance conventions and competitions, including Tremaine. She credits these experiences for the growth of her students as dancers and has given them the training to win scholarships and title awards. Her students continue to win top awards and have appeared on local and national television broadcasts.
