Nakul Dev Mahajan, “Hollywood’s Favorite Bollywood Choreographer,” is the Founder and Artistic Director of the premiere Bollywood Dance Company in the United States, NDM Bollywood Dance Productions & Studios Inc. located in Los Angeles. With over 20 years of professional experience, Nakul has become a Bollywood ambassador, bringing the Art of Bollywood dancing to diverse audiences throughout the US and beyond.

Nakul’s unique dance style and choreography fuses a diverse repertoire including Indian classical styles, such as Kathak, Bharata Natyam, Bhangra, and Folk; and, western staples including Ballroom, Latin, Hip-hop, Contemporary, and Jazz.

Nakul’s work and vision to open the first Bollywood Dance Studio in the nation in 2003 created national press and entertainment attention, including features on ABC Nightline, Time Magazine, and The Los Angeles Times. Today, NDM Bollywood Dance Studios has grown into one of the most popular Bollywood Dance Schools in the United States and encompasses the largest repertoire of Bollywood Dancers, who perform under the banner of NDM Bollywood Dance Productions.


Nakul has worked with a plethora of celebrities and public figures such as Michelle Obama, Paula Abdul, David Schwimmer, Steve Carrel and Academy Award winners Natalie Portman and A.R. Rahman to name a few. Some of his major Hollywood choreography credits include Dance Moms, Dancing with the Stars, Fuller House, The Miss America Pageant, Superstars of Dance, America’s Best Dance Crew and A.R. Rahman’s World Tour: Jai Ho. However, Nakul is best known for his 8 years of choreography on So You Think You Can Dance, which garnered him international interest and secured his role as Hollywood’s Favorite Bollywood Choreographer. Nakul also contributes his talents for various South Asian charities throughout the year for children in poverty and women in abusive conditions. As a cancer survivor himself, Nakul is an advocate for cancer awareness.



Nakul has constantly made history by bringing Bollywood to levels never seen before; daytime television, Nobel Peace Prize Concert, The White House. The reasons for his tremendous accomplishments have been his originality and creativity, which have not only made the South Asians in the US, but his entire country of India proud.
