Tony Award Nominee, Drama Desk Award Nominee, Dancer, Singer, Actor, Choreographer, Producer, DirectorLisa was born in
New Hyde Park, New York, the daughter of two
Broadway greats,
Chita Rivera and
Tony Mordente. We’ll also mention here, a man that was like a second father to Lisa, choreography legend,
Bob Fosse. Now with “credentials” like that, you can’t help but become at the very least, a dancer. Well, let’s just say big things come in small packages. This petite “triple threat plus”
(dancing, singing, acting, choreography, producing, directing, etc.) brings with her such credits as a
Tony Award Nomination for
Best Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Emilia in the
Original Broadway Cast of “Marlow” and a
Drama Desk Award Nomination for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Crystal Mason in the
Original Broadway Cast of “Platinum.” Her credits also include the
National Tour of “Gypsy” with
Angela Lansbury in which she played Agnes. She has performed the roles of Rizzo in
“Grease” and Anita in
“West Side Story” both at the
Burt Reynolds Theatre and was directed by
Tommy Tune in
“Sunset” at the
Studio Arena in
New York where she portrayed Crystal. Lisa has also been seen on television in such shows as
“Welcome Back Kotter,” in which she had a recurring role, was a series regular on
“Doc” and
“Viva Valdez” and has guest starred on many shows including
“Starsky & Hutch.” Her choreography credits include -
Executive Choreographer of
“Sister Act” the movie,
Co-Choreographer with
Tony Award Winner Wayne Cilento on the
Broadway production of “The Who’s Tommy,” staging and choreography for
“Liza Minelli at Radio City,” Co-Director and
Choreographer for the European Tour of
Earth Wind & Fire, as well as directing and choreographing
“The Rink” at the
Pasadena Playhouse, as
Assistant Director/Choreographer with
Wayne Cilento on the
Universal Studios Theme Park live show
“Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue” and on
“The Rocky Horror Show” at the
Tiffany Theatre. Since
Joe Tremaine’s lifelong and close friend is her mom,
Chita Rivera, Lisa has grown up as a member of the Tremaine family from day one and joyously welcome her as a special member of our faculty!
