*2nd DANCER TO HOLD ALL 3 DOTY TITLES
BIO SUMMER 2015
Life changing!! My time with Tremaine as Senior Male DOTY has been exactly that; impacting my yesterday, my today, and my tomorrow. I am forever grateful for the opportunities I have been given and the doors that have been opened as a result of my assisting, training and performing with the Best of the Best. Thank you again, Mr. Joe Tremaine, Ms. Julie Adler and the incredible faculty and staff for the lifelong relationships and memories. I am proud to call you family. “Dance training is life training.” It is also life changing.
BIO AUGUST 2014
Hi, my name is Keegan Wong. I am 17 years old and a senior in high school. I live on the west coast of Florida with my parents, older brother and younger sister.
Dance was introduced to me during preschool, thirteen years ago. That's where I met my present day dance teachers, Mr. Jayde Howard and Ms. Justine Coulon. When I was six years old, they took a small group of us to our very first Tremaine Dance Convention/Competition and I have been dancing and competing ever since. Mr. Jayde, Ms. Justine and the Tremaine dance family have been an integral part of my dance training this whole time.
At ten years old I attended my 1st Nationals with Tremaine and was a finalist for Junior Male Dancer of the Year and the journey took off. I didn't win the title that year, but I learned so much from the process and came back the following year to win it. The succeeding years were just as amazing as I earned a spot in the Performance Company continuing my opportunity to travel and dance alongside(the best of the best) prestigious Tremaine Faculty and Performance Company whom I admired and wanted to be like. These opportunities as a D.O.T.Y and being in the program have enhanced my regular studio training which is ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop.
When I'm not at the studio or traveling with Tremaine, I can be found helping at our family business, and on off times I enjoy video games, watching movies, anything that has to do with water and cooking.
Every year since I have been a D.O.T.Y. finalist and would go on to receive Teen D.O.T.Y. in the summer of 2011. I was not done though, my journey had another chapter waiting and it was what seemed a near impossible feat only accomplished by one other person.
I'm blessed to be surrounded by a supportive family, encouraging friends, and mentors/role models that have been there for the whole ride.
It’s an honor to have been chosen as the Senior Male D.O.T.Y. Words cannot express my gratitude to Mr. Joe Tremaine, Ms. Julie Adler, and the entire Tremaine staff. I am excited and looking forward to the upcoming season.
