SOPHIA ADOUM

Dawn Crafton Dance Connection

Teacher(s) Dawn Crafton & Kelly Welch

Hi! My name is Sophia Adoum and I am a senior in high school. I am 16 years old and have been dancing since the age of 3. When not dancing, I'm usually hanging out with my friends and family, assisting a special needs dance class, or participating in school clubs, such as the SGA. Since the beginning of my dance life, I've always had something in me that never let me give up. When I've been faced with obstacles, dance has been my way of getting through everything, I've always loved to dance and express myself through the movement and feeling. I have learned so much throughout my years as a dancer that has molded me into the dancer and person I am today.

I've always loved competing, but Tremaine is my favorite convention and competition. My studio has helped me throughout the years and nothing would be possible without their support and help. My family has also supported me in every way, and I am extremely thankful for them as well as my dance friends and teachers. Since I've been coming to Tremaine I've been rewarded with scholarships that have fueled my drive and dedication for dance. My passion for dance will only continue to grow as I take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. I am so blessed to have a supportive studio and family that has made this all possible for me. I am so excited to work with the Tremaine faculty this year and it is an incredible honor to be recognized as the 2012-13 Senior Dancer of the Year. I will always realize my blessings, and be very thankful for every opportunity I am been given.

I am determined to fulfill a professional dance career and later open a dance studio. I hope to share my love of dance with everyone who loves to dance as well. I owe thanks to Kelly Welch, Erin Kelly, Thomas Ford, Emma McKinney, Kelly d'Ambiose and all of my teachers and friends who have pushed me and have helped me realize that dancing is my life and passion. I am ready to be challenged and taught by the amazing Tremaine faculty! I am so thankful for this wonderful opportunity and I will continue to work hard in order to pursue and fulfill my dreams!
