My year with Tremaine has been great! I don't think I could have asked for anything more. The friendships and memories I have made and experienced will be ones I will keep forever. Being DOTY has been a great honor and showed me that a lot of hard work, dedication, and focus can get you anywhere. I would like to thank Joe Tremaine and the entire Tremaine faculty for everything they have taught me, and I hope to learn more in the years to come.

My name is Josh Good and I am 15 years old. I will be a sophomore in high school this year and I started dancing five years ago when I lived in the Washington D.C. area. I was taking a boys gymnastics class, they taught us a little dance to do in the beginning of our recital routine and then had us do gym work the rest of the time. One day the lady who was the director of the studio came in our class and asked us if anyone wanted to be a part of the competition group and dance. The second I heard about it and saw a class, I was amazed by these guys my age who could leap, turn, and make it look so easy. From that moment, I knew dance was what I wanted to do. I told my parents and I began taking classes right away. I started with the competition group my first year of dance, and I have been dancing ever since.

When I am not dancing, I like to swim, play sports (mostly rugby), edit music, hang out with my friends, and go to the gym. My biggest dance inspirations are Sonya Teyah, Gene Kelly, Stephen Petronio, Martha Graham, Joe Tremaine, and Jeff Amsden.

I would like to start by thanking all of the Tremaine faculty and Joe Tremaine for giving me this great honor of being chosen the 2009-10 Teen Male Dancer of the Year. I would also like to thank Pat Hawkes and Troy Brown for helping me discover my craft, and I would like to thank Christy Posey Holden, Jessica Lohmeyer, Penny Boyes and Chylene Burdick for helping me improve and get to where I am today as a dancer. I am really looking forward to an exciting year with Tremaine.
