My year as Junior Dancer of the Year has truly been the most wonderful experience of my life. I have grown so much as a person and as a dancer thanks to the Tremaine faculty and staff. They have taught me so many things over the past year in supportive and positive ways. I have performed all across the country and made many new friends. Thank you Tremaine for making my dreams come true.

My name is Paren Baerwald, I am 11 years old and in the 6th grade. I have a 9-year-old sister, Payten, who also dances. I have taken dance classes from a local studio in my hometown since I was two and I joined our dance company when I was eight. Even though I live in a small town, I have many opportunities to do what I like best: perform! I perform at art festivals, talent shows, school functions, and holiday celebrations.

Also, I really enjoy working with my studio owner and dance team. I truly admire the senior members of our team because they have taken their time and energy to help me grow as a dancer and as a person. I hope that as I gain more experience, younger dancers will look up to me in the same way.

I enjoy all types of dance but my favorite type of dance is jazz. I love jazz because it is very energetic and there are so many different ways that I can express myself. I also like to learn new choreography and then teach it to others.

Dancing is what I love to do most. When I am not dancing, which is very rare, I like to read, ride horses, play soccer, snow ski, golf, and go boating.

I started attending Tremaine conventions and competitions three years ago and what great experiences. I have learned so much from Tremaine conventions. Thank you Tremaine faculty and staff for giving me this wonderful opportunity as the 2007 Junior Female Dancer of the Year to learn more, to follow my dreams and to reach my goals!
