Allegria Dance Theatre

BIO 2005:

I am eleven years old and have been dancing for eight years. I started taking dance classes when I was three years old. My mom had me take class to keep busy while I was waiting for my sister Suzi to finish her dance lessons. The rest is history! I now dance six days a week, and take twenty-one classes per week, (including five ballet classes, jazz, tap, hip hop, swing, and conditioning). In addition, I am a member of our studio’s Junior Performing Group. My favorite dance styles are hip hop and tap. I have had lead dance roles in the following ballets: Michael in Mary Poppins, and Oz in Wizard of Oz, as well as a cast member of Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, and The Princess Bride. I also had the role of Chip in the musical Beauty and the Beast. I attend Allegria Dance Theater in Whittier, California. My dance teachers include Alia Fazio, Susan Hutcheon, Melissa McCabe, and Kim Ranney. I started competing at the age of eight, and have been coming to Tremaine Dance Conventions since 2000. My hobbies include Pop Warner Football and video games. My best advice for dancers is to take as many classes as possible and be sure to include as many ballet classes as you can. Also, make sure you audition for scholarships; you can’t win a scholarship unless you try. I would like to thank the Tremaine staff for this wonderful and exciting opportunity, and I can’t wait to work with all the great teachers and assistants this year. I am also looking forward to meeting you at the next Tremaine Dance Convention.
