Jamie King is the leading concert tour director in the world of pop music today. His newest resident production, Cirque Du Soleil's Michael Jackson ONE, premiered at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay Theater on June 29, 2013. King is also the writer & director of the still-on-tour global box office blockbuster arena show Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour.
Also a familiar on-camera television personality, King last year was the executive producer and co-star of XIX Entertainment's Latin talent reality series Q'Viva! The Chosen produced in partnership with Jennifer Lopez, Mark Anthony and Simon Fuller. He also directed the show's finale Q'viva Live! at Mandalay Bay.
Also in 2012, King directed Madonna's spectacular Super Bowl halftime show.
In 2011, the show business magazine Variety published a twelve-page special tribute issue celebrating Jamie King's career as "Billion Dollar Show Director" highlighting the twenty pop music tours he has helmed resulting in a combined box office closing in on two billion dollars. Also an acclaimed choreographer, Variety previously named him one of the most influential "movers and shakers" in the music industry, branding him the "Jerry Bruckheimer of tent-pole concert tours".
In 2011, King directed Rihanna's Loud Tour and Britney Spears' Femme Fatal Tour. He previously directed Rihanna's Last Girl On Earth tour, Britney Spears' Circus tour, Celine Dion’s Taking Chances tour, Ricky Martin's Black and White tour, Christina Aguilera's Back to Basics tour and The Return of the Spice Girls tour, among others.
For the past sixteen years, Jamie King has served as Madonna's creative director, having served as creative producer of her MDNA Tour, director of both her Sticky & Sweet world tour and her record-breaking Confessions world tour. He also directed & choreographed Madonna's Re-Invention and Drowned World Tours, and directed her hit music video, "Sorry".
An Emmy Award ® and MTV Video Music Award ® nominee, and greatly influenced by his early years working for both Prince and Michael Jackson, King has worked with an array of superstars including Mariah Carey, Shakira, George Michael, Elton John, Diana Ross, Jennifer Lopez and even Ellen DeGeneres.
In 2005, his strong caché in the pop music world and his athletic dance moves caught the attention of athletic gear powerhouse Nike who tapped him to be their global spokesperson and to create the Nike Rockstar Workout ® (taught in gyms worldwide). Fitness publishing giant Rodale thereafter released his hip-hop inspired dance fitness best selling DVD and book, Rock Your Body ®.
